The Adirondacks are Snowmobile Country

The Adirondacks are at the Heart of Snowmobiling in Central New York

We are fortunate to provide real estate services in an area that also serves as a destination spot for avid snowmobilers. This region of the Adirondacks is part of an extensive network of well-groomed snowmobile trails found in Central New York. In early December, the snowmobile trails begin to open up for recreational use by locals and snowmobile enthusiasts. The vibrant snowmobile community that we have here is another reason why this is such a wonderful area to live in year-round.

Snowmobiling is a popular outdoor activity in upstate New York because it combines exhilaration with serenity. It’s an example of an outdoor past time that doesn’t require many skills, allowing entire families to participate. The network of trails in the Adirondacks go into some of the remote areas of this vast wilderness, offering breathtaking scenery of the local mountains and lakes. The Moose River Plains area by itself boasts a 75-mile network of well-groomed trails, maintained by the local snowmobile clubs. Plus, the towns of Inlet and Webb each have their own staff of trail groomers that work diligently to keep the trails smooth and safe.

The New York State Snowmobile Association (NYSSA) has over 230 snowmobile clubs in their list. (https://membership.nysnowmobiler.com/clubs). They work with all of the snow mobile clubs to keep this sport vibrant, respectful, and safe for all. Each local snowmobile club is comprised of people who are dedicated to conservation, respect for the land, and courtesy while sharing it. The clubs are also a great way to connect with the local community in the Adirondacks. You can find people who want to ride with others for the camaraderie and safety. They are also organizing and hosting a number of gatherings and events throughout the year, snow or not. Regardless of the weather, snowmobilers are either preparing to ride, riding, or want to talk about their ride.

The big event in the area is the Annual SnoFest that takes place in March in Old Forge. A great day for anyone who is interested in snowmobiling or even if they’re just looking for a fun late spring event to attend. There’s food and drinks and fireworks at SnoFest. Plus, you be able to see the newest models of snowmobiles for the following year.

We love working and living in the this area of the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks because of the different ways the community connects—regardless of the time of year.
